Yes, Gravelly Shoal and Skillagalee are for sale. The two lighthouses are listed together for $179,900 by Jennifer Kreta of Key Realty One-TC (MiRealSource 80069393). The listing went active on June 8, 2026, and we last confirmed it on October 13, 2026.
The asking price is $179,900 for both lighthouses. A nonprofit, Lightkeepers Reservation Corp LLC, owns them and will not sell one without the other. Skillagalee alone sold at a federal auction for $23,250 in 2015.
Neither lighthouse has road access. Gravelly Shoal stands in Saginaw Bay off Au Gres. Skillagalee sits on an island in northern Lake Michigan, about 7 miles northwest of Cross Village. You bring your own boat and call the listing agent before any visit.
Two towers and their beacons, which the Coast Guard manages. Gravelly Shoal has a bunker space under the tower. No keeper's house or other dwelling is listed. A buyer also needs a Private Use Agreement with Michigan for the bottomlands.
Both lights sold at GSA online auctions in 2015. Skillagalee went for $23,250. Gravelly Shoal's first high bid of $16,000 did not close, so it passed to the next bidder. The June 2026 listing is the asking price for both together.
Gravelly Shoal sold at a GSA online auction
The first high bid was $16,000. That bidder did not close and the light went to the next bidder.

It had been offered free under the NHLPA in 2011 and drew no applicants, so GSA sold it to the public.
SourceListed for sale $179,900
Offered as one package. The listing names Lightkeepers Reservation Corp LLC, a nonprofit, as the owner of both lights.
SourceSkillagalee is the classic Lake Michigan tower: octagonal brick, built in 1888, on a low gravel island between Beaver Island and the mainland. The name is usually translated as “Island of Pebbles.” The keeper’s house came down when the light was automated in 1969, and the tower is on the National Register.
Gravelly Shoal stands on a shoal that reaches about 2.5 miles into Saginaw Bay. It is a steel tower on a rock-filled caisson, finished in the years around World War II (sources say 1939 or 1942). It replaced the older Charity Island light.
Both belong to a nonprofit, Lightkeepers Reservation Corp LLC, and the listing says they cannot be sold separately.
Before you make an offer, know that neither light has a house, so this is stewardship, not a place to sleep. The Coast Guard still runs both beacons and keeps an access easement to service them.
Michigan owns the Great Lakes bottomlands under a lighthouse, and a private buyer signs a Private Use Agreement with the state before using or occupying one. Ask for the current terms before you bid.
The listing agent is Jennifer Kreta of Key Realty One-TC. Lighthouse Dream is not the broker. Confirm price, terms and access with the seller before you act.
